Marketing/Social Media Intern

BLACK GIRLS WHO PAINT is a platform created to support and empower black women painters as they navigate through their artistic endeavors and daily activities by promoting sisterhood, community, and positive representation. Formed by a black girl (woman) who paints, our platform believes in increasing our visibility, not only through the versatility of our art but by meaningful conversations and relationships with other black girl and woman painters, as well.
The Marketing/Social Media intern will assist with marketing and social media campaigns and develop innovative ways to increase BGWP's reach and exposure.
What We're Looking For:
BGWP has grown since September 2017 that our resources and scope have also increased to support our needs. As such, we're looking for a dynamic creative looking to expand their marketing skills and entrepreneurship spirit. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and posting on blogs and social networks, engaging in online forums, participating in online outreach and promotion, and conducting keyword analysis.
What You Will Gain:
You will work directly with the CEO and learn how the online entrepreneurial and startup worlds operate. You will have a flexible schedule and the ability to work independently and create new engaging content by yourself with minimal input. You will receive opportunities to utilize your creativity for various projects and campaigns while gaining valuable online media experience with our growing platform. You will get published on our content platforms, social networks and newsletters calling out content created during the internship.
Updates social media accounts with current and relevant content
Increase social networks by engaging fanbase and promoting meaningful interactions
Monitor social media web analytics on a weekly basis and provide reports of growth and activity on a biweekly basis
Participate in strategy meetings
Proactively research marketing opportunities that align with BGWP brand
Complete other research projects as assigned
Must be an undergraduate student eligible to receive credit
Must have excellent written communication and time management skills
Must have extensive knowledge of marketing & social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube, Pinterest) and active social media presence
PowerPoint, Excel, Google Spreadsheets, Photoshop experience is a bonus, & will be considered when choosing the best applicant for this internship position
This position is remote and unpaid, requiring 10-15 hours per week.
